Part II: South Jersey Games of the Week
Here are some of the top high school football games this weekend:

Triton (4-2) at Seneca (2-4), Friday, 7 pm.

Triton’s Eric Staton had three touchdowns in last week’s 33-23 win over Ocean City. The Mustangs have won three in a row and can clinch the WJFL National Division title with wins over Seneca and Pennsauken in their last two games. In addition, the Mustangs are battling for a South Group 3 playoff berth, so there is a lot to play for. Seneca has one of the more potent passing attacks. Senior Kaden Hastie has 50 receptions for 731 yards and 11 TDs. Junior Malin Jasinski has completed 88 of 151 passes for 1,121 yards and 16 TDs. The Golden Eagles must win if they have any realistic hopes of staying in the South Group 3 playoff race.

Kingsway (4-2) at Holy Spirit (4-2), Friday, 7 pm.

Kingsway, which won three games last season, is vastly improved. The Dragons have won two in a row and have the 11th highest power rating in South Group 5. Kingsway has a tough road before the cutoff, having to face powerful Eastern next week. Holy Spirit had a four-game win streak snapped with last week’s 27-14 loss to St. Augustine. QB Ryan Yost has enjoyed a strong senior season for the Spartans.

Hammonton (3-4) at Eastern (5-1), Friday, 7 pm.
Hammonton was a fringe playoff candidate until last week’s 20-14 win over Winslow Township. Now Heck has completed 60.5 percent of his passes for the Blue Devils would clinch a South Group 4 spot with a win over Eastern, but even with a loss could still stay alive. Eastern has won five in a row since an opening 30-22 loss to Holy Spirit. Eastern senior QB Andrew Heck has completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 1,505 yards and 13 TDs. Junior Mike Suarez has rushed for 630 yards (8.0 avg.) and eight TDs, while senior TJ Franden has rushed for 636 yards (7.1 avg.) and 11 TDs. Senior receiver Dante Kiett has 32 receptions for 631 yards and 7 TDs. Eastern’s strength is the number of big-play performers the Vikings have.

Buena (6-0) at Pleasantville (5-1), Friday, 7 pm.
Buena’s lone close game was a 21-15 win over Middle Township. This game will likely decide the WJFL United Division champion. Pleasantville has won five in a row since an opening loss to Haddonfield. Last year the Greyhounds opened their season with a 13-7 OT win over Buena.

Rancocas Valley (4-2) at Lenape (3-3), Saturday, 2 pm.
This is a rematch of last year’s South Jersey Group 5 championship, won by Lenape, 10-7. Saturday’s game should be just as close between two teams that appear headed back to the SJ Group 5 playoffs. According to Gridironnewjersey.com, Rancocas Valley is second in the South Group 5 power ratings while Lenape is No. 3. RV is coming off a 30-22 win over Vineland while Lenape won its second straight game, a 39-0 triumph over Camden Catholic.
